Better data, stronger early warning, faster action for food security and nutrition
The Greater Horn of Africa is facing a severe and protracted food security and nutrition crisis, underscoring the need for timely, high-quality analysis and effective early warning to guide anticipatory and humanitarian action.
The project responds to this need by strengthening food security and nutrition information systems across the IGAD region, improving how data is analysed, shared and used for decision-making. It integrates climate and Earth Observation data to help identify hotspots and emerging risks, while strengthening collaboration among regional and national stakeholders to translate early warning information into timely action.
The project supports stakeholders involved in food security and nutrition information and early warning across the IGAD region, with targeted support for national processes in Sudan and South Sudan.
